Since 1993 and on invitation from different art institutions, the artist group WochenKlausur develops concrete proposals aimed at small, but nevertheless effective improvements to socio-political deficiencies. Proceeding even further and invariably translating these proposals into action, artistic creativity is no longer seen as a formal act but as an intervention into society. 26 projects has been realized till now.

1993 | Medical Care for Homeless People | Vienna Secession, Austria
In Vienna the first WochenKlausur project succeeded in making medical care available to homeless people. Since then a mobile clinic has provided care to more than 600 patients monthly, free of charge.
1994 | Shelter for Drug Addicted Women | Shedhalle Zurich, Switzerland
In Zurich a shelter for homeless and drug-addicted women who worked illegaly as prostitutes was established by WochenKlausur.
1996 | Social Service Agency in Deportation Dentention | Kunstverein Salzburg, Austria
WochenKlausur opened a social service agency at the Salzburg Police Detention Center that provides social and legal assistance to inmates detained pending deportation.
1999 | Language Schools in Macedonia | Venice Biennale, Venice, Italy
WochenKlausur set up language schools for the children living in the refugee camps in in Macedonia and Kosovo. who had no chance to visit schools during the Kosovo War.
2000 | Project Based Teaching in Schools | Museum City Project, Fukuoka, Japan
In Japan WochenKlausur founded an agency for augmenting traditional instruction in schools. It offers a wide selection of ìlearning by doingî projects.
2002 | Vopting System | Kulturhuset Stockholm, Sweden
Two weeks before the parliamentary election in Swwden, WochennnKlausur conducted a fictive election in the center of Stockholm. In this experiment it was possible to vote not only for a party, but also against one.
2003 | Activity Programm for Nursing Home | European Cultural Capital Graz, Austria
WochenKlausur developed a year-long program of activities for mentaly challenged people living in a nursing home
2005 | Furnishing Social Facilities | Smart Museum, Chicago, USA
WochenKlausur founded “material exchange” an initiative to upcycle and redesign materials discarded by museums and theaters for refurbishing homeless facilities and homes of families in need.
2006 | Cinema for Migrants | EV+A Biennal, Limerick, Ireland
WochenKlausur realized together with migrant communities the “Belltable Open” - a cinema which offers a programm with films from the different migrants´ countries.
2007 | Assistance for Development Cooperation | Galerie Hoemannhaus,Augsburg, Germany
An intervention group was founded in order to professionaly assist development cooperations in conjunction with water supply.
2009 | Youth Center | Kulturverein Schloss Goldegg, Austria
For the youth in the village of Goldegg who had no space to meet Wochenklausur founded a youth center and furnished it together with the young people.
