Architect and Architectural Historian, is Head of the Department of Architecture at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem and partner at Efrat-Kowalsky Architects. He has taught at several universities, lectured worldwide, published extensively in various periodicals and anthologies, and curated numerous exhibitions in Israel and in Europe, including: Borderline Disorder (The Israeli Pavilion at the 8th Architectural Biennale, Venice, 2002).
His book, The Israeli Project: Building and Architecture 1948-1973 , was published in 2004.
The Office of Efrat-Kowalsky Architects specializes in the design of museums and in the re-programming and re-use of existing institutions and structures. Among the office projects: Re-organization, renovation and new additions to the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; New addition to the Holocaust Museum in Kibbutz Lohmei Hagetaot; Preservation and new additions to the City Museum of Tel Aviv. The office participates in the Ordos100 project, Inner Mongolia, China.
